Although still healing from her parents’ deaths, August seems to finally have put the past behind her as she celebrates her new promotion with her wife Athena and their son Ender. On a bright weekend afternoon, the three enjoy a day in the sun. The mothers exchange knowing looks as they watch their bubbly son play in the yard. Things seem to be looking up for the Lee family!

Balancing a successful music career with raising a child can be tough, but August is rocking it so far! Their baby boy isn’t quite a baby anymore, but August and Athena are certain they’ll be able to face any challenge parenthood throws their way as they raise little Ender.
August, my second generation heir for my new legacy challenge, finally had her wedding with Athena Landgraab, heiress to the Landgraab fortune!
Athena made sure to get some selfies with her wife before and after the ceremony, and had August capture her gorgeous look in her wedding dress. The ceremony was beautiful, taking place in the newly renovated Magnolia Blossom Park as they were surrounded by friends and family.
(PS: I have a mod installed that makes townies autonomously have babies, which is how Athena Landgraab was born.)
So, here I’m going to attempt to do a review of the new skin tone update. At first, all the tones update looked fantastic but when I took a closer look is when I noticed some things, some disappointing and some odd. Overall, I think the update was not ready to be released. All pictures shown a screen shot in game & unedited but use the default vanilla skin.
The first thing I noticed, was a skintone in the warm section that is incredibly orange, like bright orange. Here it is at the middle & both ends of the slider
Secondly I noticed a number of tones make the lips appear overly pinkish - I don’t know if it was intentional or not, but if it was, why is it only on a few tones?
Next, in several tones a pink discolouration appears on the nose and around the mouth on several tones. It is more noticeable on some than others, and is particularly disappointing given it was one of the major critiques of earlier tones.

this tone is particularly bad for blotchiness - look at the nose, and then in the second photo is the same tone just further along the slider. The discolouration continues from the nose to the whole eye & eyebrow area.
to my eye, that is very significant blotchiness that is clearly, not ready for release.
My final critique that I noticed in my exploration of the tones is for those in the cool section. I found, in my opinion, that a lot of the tones in this section just don’t look right. A lot of the skintones look grey and some almost inhuman, they just don’t look right. Here is a couple that caught my eye. (apologies for some of these screenshots having closed eyes)
So there it is, my review of the skintones.
There a plenty of skin tones that are gorgeous, and the sliders are absolutely fantastic but in my opinion, due to the issues I pointed out above, the skin tones as a whole were not ready for release. The most disappointing is that a lot of the issues are more common on darker tones.
Once again, many of the tones are lovely & have removed my need for custom tones (probably), but I think a few tones need revising.
I agree with so much of what was said here. I hope that they fix some stuff in the coming weeks.
